Silvina Lanyon Business Woman and Theatre Proprietor: Tracing her footsteps into Western Australia 1903 -1960

Silvina Lanyon grew up in mining towns in Queensland and New South Wales. Her father was a miner and after the death of her father in 1890 her mother remarried miner William Faull in that same year.

At the age of 17 Silvina married James Caddy Lanyon, aged 19 in Cobar, New South Wales in 1900.

Tracing Silvina and James Lanyon footsteps into Western Australia’s Goldfields in 1903, covers the hardship and loss for the family, and a resilience that transpired Silvina into a business woman. Silvina was an artist in her own right. A documented life story told and captured by newspapers of the time.
